How Laser Tattoo Removal Works
Laser tattoo removal works by targeting pigment in the tattoo ink using highly focused pulses of light. Each laser pulse is absorbed by the ink, causing it to fragment without damaging the surrounding skin. Over time, the body’s natural processes flush out these tiny ink particles, gradually fading the tattoo.
Varsity Clinic uses Q-switched and Nd:YAG laser systems, which are known for their ability to treat multi-colored tattoos on a variety of skin types with high safety standards.
Treatment Timeline
Most tattoos require 6 to 10 sessions, spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart. Fading is progressive, and certain colors like black and dark blue respond faster than green, red, or yellow inks.
What to Expect at Varsity Clinic
Each session begins with a detailed assessment of the tattoo and skin type. Numbing cream is applied for comfort, and protective eyewear is provided. The laser device is then passed over the tattooed area, emitting controlled pulses of light.
The treated area may feel warm and slightly sensitive afterward, similar to a mild sunburn. Redness and swelling usually subside within 24–48 hours. Aftercare instructions are provided to support healing and prevent pigmentation changes.
At Varsity Clinic, all laser procedures are conducted under the guidance of Dr. Pranjal Joshi (MBBS, MD Dermatology, FIADVL – Dermatosurgery, FACSI – Lasers), a globally trained Cosmetic Dermatologist and Laser Specialist with deep expertise in treating Indian skin types. His international training from leading institutions in Italy, Singapore, and Austria ensures that each session is performed with clinical precision and safety.
